Charlotte Bronte at the Sally

I stumbled across this for the first time the other day. Now, I have been going to the Salutation for many years and have never noticed this plaque declaring such literary connections. I'm sure the world and his wife  must know about this, but I'm afraid until recently it passed me by. It's quite self-explanatory when you read the plaque so there really isn't much point in me going on about it - only to point out that Charlotte was one among many to pay a visit to this wonderful place. It's on Higher Chatham Street at the back of MMU, so if you're an MMU student based at All Saints looking for your tutor they'll probably be in here. There are more illustrious vistors (your bog standard alcoholic lecturers aren't included in this category) who are more in line with the quality of the Brontes -  Frank Sidebottom played here on the first day of the world cup.

It's still open as I was in there with a pint a couple of weeks ago. Get down there - it's a great pub.
